Welcome to Black History Month's Music

BLUESR&B music has been around a long time, since the 1940's, although it use to sound a little different (no Boys II Men, Motown Philly kind of thing going back then). The style of music was a combination of blues music from the country, and the more black-oriented, big-band sound. SaxSome of the early R & B musicians were T-Bone Walker, Fats Domino, James Brown (he's a lot like the energizer bunny--just keeps going and going...) and Ray Charles.

Today R&B, soul, and pop music really come together, and people like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Boys II Men are the stars of that music scene. Take a look at the list below, and see if you can match up the stars with some of the "facts" about their lives.
